Drawstring Bags workshop - Monday 7th August 2017

Where: Fabric HQ, Layby Farm, Old Risborough Road, Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire, HP22 5XJ.
Join Barbara Orth at the Make HQ Studio and learn how to make two really cute drawstring bags ideal for all your bits and bobs, make-up, PJ's, toiletries or a gift for someone special. You will have to opportunity to make two different sizes of drawstring bags using the drawstring technique.
They can be made with matching or contrasting fabrics, the possibilities are endless.
Level: This workshop is perfect for beginners and improvers but must be able to use a rotary cutter and competent on a sewing machine.
What to bring:
- Your sewing machine
- Your normal sewing kit and thread
Large bag fabric requirements:
- Exterior fabric - 1/2 metre or 2 x 14" by 14" (36 x 36cm)
- Lining fabric – 1/2 metre or 2 x 14" by 14" (36 x 36cm)
Small bag fabric requirements:
- Exterior fabric - 1/2 metre or 2 x 9" by 9" (29 x 29cm)
- Lining fabric – 1/2 metres or 2 x 9" by 9" (29 x 29cm)
Please note that if you decide to make the bags out of the same fabric you will only need 3/4 metre of both the exterior and lining fabric.
- Various colours of string and beads to chose from
- Pattern instruction to take away plus any additional workshop notes
We do have some equipment for you to use but before the class begins we will send you a pre-read which will include a list of everything you will need to bring with you.
