Little Dresses for Little People Workshop - Sat 17th June 2017

When: Saturday 17th June, 9.30am - 3.30pm
Where: Fabric HQ, Layby Farm, Old Risborough Road, Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire, HP22 5XJ.
A full days workshop covering the basics of dressmaking on a small scale producing a gorgeous, one-off dress for a lucky little lady.
We will demystify the process of following a commercial dressmaking pattern, and cover the following:
- Working out how much fabric you need and what type of fabric is best to use;
- Deciding what size garment to make and cutting out the pattern pieces;
- Constructing the garment and understanding dressmaking terminology;
- Using your various sewing machine functions to achieve the best finish for you garment.
The workshop includes a copy of the pattern (which includes sizes 0-5 years) for you to take away, tea, coffee, cake and your tuition. Please also pop a sandwich in your bag for lunch or you may wish to pop next door to the café.
Please note that you will need to bring your own fabric to make your dress.
Grade: This workshop is suitable for beginners, but you will need to have some previous experience of threading up a machine and sewing in a straight line!
