Join Amanda Seaborne at the Make HQ Studio and learn how to make this super comfy kids sweatshirt from ages 2 right up to 14 years. It's so easy to make in lightweight jersey or cosy sweatshirt fabric. Take away the fear of sewing with knits on a normal sewing machine and join us to make this absolutely gorgeous sweatshirt jumper.

In the class you will cover the following: 

  • Looking at different types of knit fabrics and various sewing machine stitches and finishes available on your machine..
  • Cutting out the pieces in fabric.
  • Constructing the sweatshirt and understanding dressmaking terminology.

    Grade: This workshop is suitable for confident beginners and you will need to have some previous experience of threading up a machine and sewing in a straight line!

    The pattern used for this class is the Macadamia Sweatshirt by Amanda Seaborne. You can find her patterns on her website www.sewn-up.co.uk

    Fabric requirements - can be made in a single fabric colour/type or with contrasting arms and neckline.

    PLEASE NOTE ONLY ONE SIZE IS INCLUDED IN THE WORKSHOP PRICE - additional pattern sizes supplied on request at additional cost of £2.50 per size.

    The workshop includes a copy of the pattern for you to take away, refreshments and your tuition. Please note that you will need to bring your own pre-washed fabric to make your sweatshirt. A pre-read will be sent with everything you will need to bring on the day.

    Please bring along your sewing machine, if you don’t have one no problem we can provide one but please let make@fabrichq.co.uk know in advance. If bringing your own sewing machine please can we ask that you also bring along the manual. If you wish to borrow a sewing machine or sewing machine accessories there will be a returnable £10 cash deposit to be paid at the beginning of the workshop.

    You should receive a pre-read a least 10 days prior to the workshop date so please do contact make@fabrichq.co.uk if you do not received this email - please do check your junk folder in case it's made it's way there first.

    Once you have signed up to the class you will receive a single use 10% off fabric discount code to be used at www.fabrichq.co.uk or in our shop.  If you wish for us to email your discount code before the class so that it can be used online, please drop us an email. Please note this 10% class discount cannot be used in conjunction with any other discount offer.
